It is a data transfer protocol that serves to convey musical control information between electronic instruments. MIDI stands for Musical Instruments Digital Interface. What is a MIDI keyboard or MIDI PIANO?ĬASIO MIDI pianos and MIDI keyboards feature a classic 5-pin MIDI interface to which connects various sound generators and electronic instruments. Therefore, the scope of the creative possibilities of CASIO keyboards and pianos are truly endless, which is why these instruments are particularly in demand by professionals. Using the input and output jack for classic 5-pin MIDI connectors, MIDI-enabled devices and instruments can be interconnected. Compatibility with hardware, software and existing equipment plays an important role in the purchase decision.ĭevelopers of CASIO take this requirement into account in every respect and equip their keyboards and pianos with sophisticated technical finesse as well as numerous connection options such as MIDI interfaces. Professional musicians, performance artists and composers find the MIDI keyboards to be robust on stage and in the studio, with a vast amount of fun features that lets creativity run free. Newcomers are enthusiastic about the intuitive usability and the various exercises that motivate them to practice and play. Beginners and professionals alike appreciate their versatility. So these should be complete schematics to your keyboard.CASIO MIDI keyboards and pianos for your creative projectsĬASIO keyboards and digital pianos are not only popular because of their extensive equipment, they also have excellent sound quality and an abundance of sounds and rhythms. I don't know if those parts are the ones you want to keep using.ĮDIT: After looking over the CTK-2000/3000 user manual and the CTK-2000 service manual that I linked to, I think I found the differences in the two: on the schematic, where there are portions labeled "Not used", those are parts that are in the 3000 and not the 2000. Part of the 9VDC power from either the wall wart or the batteries is converted to 5V to run various ICs - and some of that is likewise converted down to 3.3V - but it looks, from my quick look, like there are some parts run off the 9V natively. Looking at those schematics, I can tell you that converting to USB power could be hard to do. The models share the same user manual, so they are likely very similar, but you'll want to look at the layouts and schematics carefully to see where your keyboard differs.

I could not find any technical data on the CTK-3000 keyboard, but I did find a service manual for the related CTK-2000 keyboard at. Either way, this seems like it would be a long project. I'm unclear on whether you want to make your CTK-3000 into a MIDI controller, where the keyboard would generate MIDI signals to control other instruments, or a MIDI module, where the device would generate sound based on incoming MIDI messages.
